So, I'm back to my pre-holiday weight. YAY!
I love the first few weeks of losing weight - And taking a couple months off to eat whatever I wanted seems to have reset me. It's awesome to see the scale move daily.
I prefer wondering how I lost 2 lbs overnight to wondering how many weeks it will take to lose a pound. :)
I still have 2 lbs more to lose before I am back at my lowest weight, but that sh...

So, it's been a couple weeks since my last update.
Things are going well. I've been dieting for 100 days. I've lost 37 lbs.
I've been on a bit of a break from my earlier really low carb diet.
I was starting to get tired easily. Getting some extra carbs seems to help in this regard.
A "bit" of a break is probably an understatement.
I'm still going to the gym pretty much 5 days a week...

So, I had some candy today.
I blew the "Low-carb" part of my diet all apart for the day - but really - I'm still down several hundred calories for the day.
In some ways this was a bad thing - but on the other hand - I only had 6 snack-sized portions and I was around candy pretty much all day. So, yeah, this was cheating, but it is still _SO_ much better then how I would have handled it this time last year.

My oldest son and I went to a football game tonight.
We ended up parking about a mile away from the stadium. Normally this would bother me a bit. Not tonight. I had to miss a cardio workout to go to the game with him - viola! Instant cardio workout. :)
I also smuggled in a little ziplock bag of almonds for a snack - this was a good way to avoid all of the normal goodies that I usually get at sports events - but that ...

The other day I was exchanging some e-mails and the topic of skiing came up.
Skiing was something I loved as a kid. I did it every weekend all winter for about 10 years. At some point I stopped. Then at some point I was too fat to return to skiing.
In the back of my mind I never expected to ski again.
Now I AM going to ski again. Maybe this winter. Or if not, then certainly next win...

So, I just noticed - I have 256 points now.
This makes me in the top 5000 out of 349,211 people here at FitClick!
I am 4667 right now and I'm on this page: http://www.fitclick.com/weight_loss_points_leaderboard?page=230
Yes, this is a bit goofy. But it is a bit motivational too. :)

So, tonight I changed up my workout a bit.
I've been using "Starting Strength" for a couple months.
I think I am going to drop the dead lifts and the power cleans...
After several weeks - I am just not getting the movements correct. This has resulted in kind of a sore lower back on each of my rest days.
I can't get the "jump/stomp" bit for the power cleans. It just f...

I've been dieting and working out for a couple months. I've lost a bit more then 10% of my body weight so far.
While some good things are happening - some, well, less good things seem to be happening too.
I'm getting soft. My belly used to be nice and firm - like a watermelon. Now, you can literally grab a handful of belly.
I'm getting wrinkly too. And scars that I once thought were long gone are coming back. St...

My younger son got a shirt a few months back that said, "Pain is just weakness leaving the body."
I like that. :)
Lifting weights may make you weird. I do squats three times a week as a part of my strength program. I'm really starting to like the "pain" of the weight on the back of my shoulders. I wasn't loving the squats the first few times I did them, but now I am looking forward to them - p...

So, I really like rewards. I reward myself a LOT.
Probably more then I deserve - but you know... It's me. I like me. :)
So, this weekend I bought a new scale for the basement. It's one of those that in addition to weighing you zaps you with a bit of electricity and then tells you your body fat percentage, bone density, hydration, etc.
I like it. I hear that they are REALLY&n...
