Disciplined....

Working on being very disciplined this week - hoping to log ALL of my meals, not just Monday to Friday.  Also planning on packing lunch from home so I can control portion and nutrition info too.  Have been pretty good about the cardio, but need to get back to the gym and start weight training again.  I feel like I've been stuck gaining and losing the same 8 pounds for months now!!  Time to head in the right direction before the holidays roll around!!  Have a gr

Walking my butt off

I live in a very hilly city - so the chances of taking a 4 mile walk with no elevation are slim to none.  The benefits of those daily climbs are starting to pay off.  Most of my pants which a few weeks ago were snug are now very loose in the butt and waist.  I used to be a runner, so walking always seemed a step in the wrong direction.  What I'm now realizing is that by walking at a brisk pace (4 miles in an hour) an

Ever wondered how many steps you actually take in a day?  A friend told me about this gadget called Fitbit, which tracks steps, miles, elevation, how much time your heart is at an elevated pace, and calories burned.  It can even track your sleep patterns and let you know how often you wake during the night.  It is WAY COOL!!   And Fitclick supports it so your info gets sent right to this website.  No more guessing how many calories you burned or just how inten

Going Green

It has been proven to me time and time again, that when I eat lots of healthy greens I drop pounds faster.  So why do I find it so difficult to consistently keep the veg in my diet?  I guess time plays a huge factor in what gets thrown into my gym bag on the way out the door to work.  What works well is when we have salad the night before and the leftovers become my lunch.  I just add some deli chicken breast or turkey and a slice of low fat swiss, there's a high pr

It never fails.... Had a good day eating healthy, ran 4 miles at a good pace, but couldn't resist those OREO cookies at 9pm.....  Should have went to bed.  But today is another day - so hoping for a little will power.  Good luck everyone :)

Just came home from the gym and had a really great workout.  It's been a long time since I've been able to run five miles in under 50 minutes, but I did it in 45:42!!  Finally feeling like all of the diet and exercie stuff is coming together.  Have a great day everyone.
