Falling off the wagon...getting back on.

It happened.  I stopped working out after just a couple of weeks of feeling great...I'm back on again only to realize I've gained a couple pounds!  How did that happen?  I'm motivated once again and ready to start it again.  This time, it's cold turkey.  Working out and eating right.  No cheating.  I thought I could control the amount of food but I can't so I'm trying the alternative.  We will see what comes of it.  It worked wonderfully in the past b...

Eating healthy is always a challenge

Instead of making the unbelieveably difficult transition to small portions and healthier foods all at once, i've decided to focus on making sure I eat before 6:00pm and opt for grilled food or salads when possible.  So far, I'm not depriving myself completely of the meals I love but I'm learning to eat slow so my mind catches up with my stomach and I'm finally enjoying food that is better for me.  I think it's working because already I feel like my appetite isn't as huge.  Love It...

6 days in and i'm feeling good.  Keeping up with the gym is my number 1 goal right now and I already feel the difference.  I thought I would start out with 30 min of cardio but I'm stayin strong with an hour of Elliptical each visit I make to the gym.  It's so hard sometimes but I get through it because I usually have someone there with me and I'm waiting for them to finish up their routine.  It's the best way for me to finish up my full hour.  Because I keep thinki...

The first step is always the hardest

With the help of a great friend, I was encouraged to get up and hit the gym last night.  I felt amazing afterward.  As amazing as one can feel being exhausted, hot, sweaty and in pain from my muscles burning.  It was all worth it though.  Yesterday night was the first step to a healthier me.  I've tried before and given in to my old eating habits but this time I'm determined to lose the weight.  I'm going to slowly start eating better and I've started day 1
