I managed to lose 5 lbs. my first week. And no I didn't starve myself. I stayed within 1200 - 1300 calories per day, watched my carbs and at times went beyond my protein allotment. This has become my motivation to continue. I live by the 80/20 rule. 80% of the time I adhere to eating properly, 20% I eat whatever I want (in moderaton of course). By the time I left work yesterday I was still under my total calories for the day and below my total carbs for the day. I had a sensible dinner and I could still have an evening snack to boot. And then I had a snack attack which put me over my calorie limit by 240 and my fat limit by 15. Oh well, to combat any feelings of defeat, this morning I decided to restyle my hair, put on some makeup and strut my 240 calories extra self to work.

So if it means I have to bring groceries to work to insure that I stay on my program, so be it. I find that preparation is the key. I plan amd prepare my foods the night before, put everything in containers, and then calculate my calories, carbs, protein and fat so I can stay within a suitable range for weight loss. It really isn't that hard when you think about the goal. Today I get to snack on liver pate and ritz crackers...YUM!!!!

I'm patting myself on the back for what I deemed to be a successful start to reaching my weight loss goals. I didn't go offtrack eating barbeque last night....I had garden salad with vinegritte that me and my date split...and you know what the rum & diet coke wan't bad at all. You know this is not so bad...had a peach and a breakfast sandwich for breakfast..chicken for my morning snack...steamed shrimp & broccoli for lunch...and I will finish out the evening with barbeque whatever and rum & diet cokes (65 calories each)...I'm within my 1200-1300 calorie limit, under my carbs & fats limit and right with my protein limit....feeling good....

So I started yesterday out pretty ok....I knew what I wanted to eat ...stayed within 1200 calories....but when I went home after work the progress I made all day began to unravel....I know I didn' have to eat the fried fish, rice and squash...that put me over my calorie and carb limitation, so what the hell, I might as well eat the ice cream sandwich that was calling my name from the freezer.
