Yeah it's been almost a year since I've posted,  but sometimes life deals you some serius blows that take you awhile to recover from. It was Thanksgiving in 2010 that broke my focus and put me back on the dead end road that I've always been on. It has taken me almost a year to get back to the mindset of "HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT". I got up to 161 pounds and it hit me, YOU ARE GOING TO DIE LIKE THE REST OF THE OVERAGE, OVERWEIGHT OLD MEN THAT YOU READ AB...

#252 & Gaining

Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 9:20 PM filed under Diet & Nutrition postings
I've been going 8 months now and have reached #252 on the points leaderboard. My goal is to be #1. I do not want this title for adding recipes or foods. I want this for workouts and cardios alone. At 57 (just had my birthday) I have nothing to lose. The cravings, the willpower, the "Oh this hurts" is gone forever. It is now simply "KEEP GOING". If I stop, I will die. I know this sounds horrible, but it's the motivation that is needed to keep the drive going. Large deltoids, s...

I finally made it to the 300 spot on the points leaderboard. I've been at this for about 7 months now and my 10 year old son is starting to work out with me. I just wish my 13 year old would do the same. There's no stopping now. Went to the YMCA last Saturday and worked out for about 2 hours. I saw 30 year olds looking at me like " Look at this old man giving it all he's got". My shirt was soaked with sweat. It actually motivated them. This guy almost challenged me on one of the m...

5 Days Until My 6 Month Mark

Getting stronger & stronger every day. Bought my first nitric oxide pre work out powder today. Have been doing protein powder shakes all along so I think I'm ready for the next step. I am going to start with 1/2 scoop to see how this old body takes it then increase if I can. Pulled a muscle today doing dumbell flys without warming up. Lesson learned. I'm pretty sure I am getting all the protein and carbos my body needs so I feel now is the time to take it full tilt. Am working out 90 minu

5 Months & Counting

Well today I have been working out & watching what I eat for 5 months. I feel like I should have felt when I was 30. There is no going back now. I realized that tonight when our family ate dinner at Dennys and all I looked for on the menu was what would be good for me, NOT what looked good. I get up in the morning now feeling energized & looking forward to breakfast which is 1/4 cup oatmeal with 1/2 cup nonfat milk along with a scoop of protein powder & water. I am eating small amoun...

The Next Level

I finally realized tonight that just working the same routine everyday is not the answer. You must work out as long as you can, up to and including "muscle failure". It is only then that you truly derive the maximum benifits of the pre and post workout supplements. This is where "thermogenics" step in to help your muscles work out even longer. I am still not up to using them because of the caffiene content, but I finally after 4 and 1/2 months get it. I am increasing the weig...

Yes, I am still working out and taking care of my body. I cannot believe it. I have never in my life stayed focused on something as long as this. But I have never felt this good in my entire life either. Each day I feel my energy level increasing and my motivation to keep at it increasing as well. This is insane, I am actually starting to think maybe I should cut down on my beer intake to shed the last few pounds of body fat. I LOVE this site!

So yesterday I got a container of Creatine. Looked up all the side effects on the web this morning and decided it was safe enough for someone my age. I am not doing the "load" thing. Might be a little much for my system. So for 2 days I have drank a pre workout protein & post workout creatine. I read you have to drink plenty of water when you take creatine because it draws water from your blood stream to flood the muscle tissue. That's one thing I have to force myself to do.. Hope ...

Keeping On

It's really cool that I have got a friend watching me and I am watching her.It keeps me focused on my goals. Why is it the last few pounds are seeming to be the hardest to lose. I do 80 crunches a day plus 40 side crunches, as well as doing the Abs Circle Pro, 3 sets of 30 reps & 35 minutes on the tread until I'm totally wet.. I cannot seem to lose my "love handles". Is there a secret exercise for this that I'm missing. I know it took me 30 years to develop these unsightly bul...

Well, it being the weekend, I ate 5 pieces of pizza and 1 too many beers. I did work out, but my will power was low. I will try to do better tomarrow. I am really happy that "curley5363" excepted me on her friends list. It totally helps to have someone to share my struggle with. Thank You
