I checked out for a couple of days.  Came down with a cold and did absolutely nothing.  Still don't feel great, but have to return to life sometime. So far it hasn't been too bad.  I did make one slight modification and changed my target from under 1200 calories to at 1200 calories which creates a range from 1150 to 1250. 
I did eat some fast food this weekend but still managed to stay within my range.

MONTH 1, DAY 3 - 1200

Well I went a bit over yesterday, 21 cals to be exact.  I usually eat something around 3 p.m. but was not in a position where I could yesterday.  As a result when I got home I was feeling lightheaded and shaky.  I didn't exercise yesterday because I didn't trust myself.  Even after eating dinner I still felt not so good, so I ate a bowl of cereal.  I feel irritable and slightly shaky this morning.  I'm going to press on however.  I'll stick with this for a...

Didn't have too many problems yesterday.  Felt a little hungry but I can live with it.  The nice thing is I can have anything I want, just not as much as I may want.  It takes a little planning but so does most any diet plan.  My biggest challenges are always the weekend.  It's especially so the next two weekends as I have season college football tickets and our team is home the next two weeks.  Tailgating may be a challenge.

MONTH 1, DAY 1 - 1200

Well, it all begins today.  I have planned my first day's meals etc.  I have planned 1129 calories.  I was a bit surprised when I got on the scale this morning for my initial weigh in.  I had started trying to lose weight in March of this year, lost 20 pounds (approximately) and got stuck.  Nothing I tried work and so I stopped around the beginning of July.  I haven't tracked or really watched what I ate at all and have not been exercising.  I have not, however...

FIRST PLAN

The first plan I will follow is extremely simple - I will consume 1200 calories a day or less.  This was the amount suggested by my doctor.  I will only track calories, nothing else.  This month will be my baseline month by which I will compare the other plans.

EXERCISE

I realize that weight loss is a two fold process - what you eat and what you burn.  Since I want the experiment to focus on the diet plans and not the workout plan I use.  Therefore I will follow a basic workout plan and not change it during the experiment.  I'm limited as far as exercise due to some pain in my knees.  The basic plan will be -

Resistance training (weight lifting or resistance bands) 4 times per week

I have been overweight most of my life.  For a brief period in my 20's I weighed a normal weight (135), however I did it in a very unhealthy way.  On average I fasted Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday every week.  I survived on Diet Coke and Tylenol.  On Thursday through Sunday I ate once a day.  The only healthy thing I did at that time was my workout plan.  I did resistance training (weight lifting) 4 times a week and 1/2 hour of aerobic exercise 3-4 days a week...

PRE LAUNCH

Is everyone out there as confused as I am?  I mean, low carbs, no carbs, good carbs, bad carbs, glycemic index, low fat, no fat, carb lovers, on and on and on.  It's overwhelming.  Well, I've decided to try to sort some of it out for myself, and if it helps anyone else along the way fantastic.
